Markilux Syncra Project Hampshire
Radiant Blinds was asked to quote for an awning to cover the garden area at Thyme and Tides in Stockbridge, Hampshire. This deli, bistro & fishmongers has a south facing courtyard garden at the back of their property. As you can imagine, this is a very exposed area with limited use. With the addition of the Markilux Syncra system, it has become a usable area. Consequently, it’s practical during hot weather and also when the inevitable rain descends. Dog walkers (accompanied by their four-legged companions) particularly enjoy this space for breakfast, light lunches and homemade treats.
Markilux Syncra
The Markilux Syncra freestanding awning system is the ideal solution to provide practical coverage to the garden area. It consists of a freestanding goal post structure anchored to the floor via stabilisation boxes. These boxes are filled with hardcore to weigh them down. Therefore, this has eliminated the need to have any ground works.
We fitted timber seating to the top of the stabilisation boxes for customers’ use. In addition they can sit at the tables and benches under the awnings. The overall length of the system is 6m. Two Markilux awnings were fitted to the top, one on either side. Each awning projects 2m giving an overall shading are of 6m x 4m.
Radiant Blinds motorised both of these Markilux awnings. The customer made sure there was a power supply to connect the awnings to. For ease of control, our customer can operate the awnings by a remote control handset. They can operate each awning individually. Alternatively the can operate both awnings at the same time.
In addition to the awnings, we fitted 2 heaters to the underside of the goal posts. Again, this makes the outside area a usable space when it’s a bit chilly. All in all, our installation of this Markilux Syncra system together with the awnings & heaters has made the garden area a great place for customers to enjoy the bistro come rain or shine!
