More and more of our clients are choosing to spend money on making their outdoor spaces more usable.  A patio is a great space but if it is exposed to bright sunlight, it can become redundant.  Similarly, if you’re enjoying being outside and it starts to rain, the lovely patio setting is no longer practical.  That’s where we come in.  Our experienced representatives can help you choose a patio awning which suits your needs. 

Manufactured in Our Factory

We have our own factory where our experienced team manufactures many of our water resistant awnings.  We also work closely with two German suppliers, Markilux & Weinor, to import high quality folding arm systems.  These have been thoroughly tested and we’ve visited the German factories ourselves to ensure their standards meet our requirements.  

Retractable Shading Solutions

Our most popular type of patio awning is a retractable retractable awnings design that enables you to control the projection.  Since weather conditions change during the day, you can adjust how far out your water resistant awning comes with the touch of a button or using a winding handle.  There is also the option of sun and wind sensors.  Therefore, even if you are out, you can rest assured that your awning will extend if it is sunny. And retract if it is windy.

Manual or Electric

We supply your awnings with manual wind or motor with remote control options depending on size. When you get to 4000 mm wide you should really consider having them motorised. You will find your awning is a little heavy to wind if it’s bigger than that. The motorised ones work from a remote control handset. Alternatively, you can have a wire-free wall switch. The selection depends on your personal preferences. You can even add sun (UV rays) and wind sensors to the motorised awnings. By doing so they will open and close automatically.

Made to measure for your home

Depending on your budget and installation requirements, you can choose which type of awning best suits your home and your needs.  Since our awnings are made to measure, we can accommodate all sorts of different fitting situations.  If you have a new build, our representative can liaise with your builder to ensure electric points and wiring are discreet and accessible.

In addition to the practicalities, you will also make your selection depending on the style of awning you prefer.  As mentioned, we supply Markilux & Weinor Patio Awnings which are contemporary in design.  There are different models to choose from and our representative can explain the options available.  If you have another colour scheme in mind, you can choose to have your awning framework powder coated.

Very wide Patio Awnings

Most patio awnings are up to 5000mm in width but we can go larger if you need. The largest single awning is 7000mm. However, two of them can be coupled together to create huge widths. We have also installed awnings to over 10,500mm with a single cover. The projection is governed by the width but tends to be around 2500mm to 3000mm. This will give you enough space to sit under as well as shade the inside of your home. We have all the awning sizes that fit your needs and requirements.

Traditional Victorian Awning

If you’re looking for more of a traditional appearance, we continue to manufacture our Traditional Victorian Awning.  This awning has remained popular over the years and we’ve not deviated too much from the original design.  It’s a lovely product and well suited to period properties. We also make Dutch Blinds, so if you want some shading inside your home without needing to sit underneath it, this is a simple, cost-effective solution. 

Awning Fabrics

When it comes to materials for your awning cover, there are plenty of choices.  With plain and patterned awning fabrics, you are spoilt for choice.  Not only do the fabrics look great, but they also are non-fading and have waterproof and UV resistant properties.   

Importance of Installation

The most important thing with awnings is the installation.  Awnings are heavy, and secure fixings are paramount so speaking to a professional is important to get it right.  Contact Radiant and we will be happy to visit free of charge and advise of the best solution. 

Brackets

Sometimes there are insufficient fixings for our awnings.  This could be due to the weight of the awning or the structure of your building.  All is not lost. We specialise in making bespoke brackets to enable our awnings to be fitted to your property.  These photos show some of the installations we have made which have required special brackets.
