Since 2014, the standards regarding the manufacture, supply and professional installation of internal window blinds have changed significantly. It is now illegal to supply or professionally install a blind which does not comply with the child safety requirement of British Standard BS EN 13120:2014.
At Radiant Blinds, we recognise that blind cords can pose a risk for babies, children and vulnerable people who could injure or even strangle themselves on the looped cords. That is why, as a member of the British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA), we fully support the ‘Make It Safe’ campaign. This campaign is endorsed by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and the Child Accident Prevent Trust (CAPT).
We are committed to giving our customers the best and most up-to-date advice on the most appropriate choice of blind, and how the current legislation will affect both the manufacture and installation. Whether you choose a blind with an integral safety design or a product with a non-integral safety device, you can be sure that any blinds supplied by Radiant Blinds will comply.
