Cote in Brighton took delivery of two new traditional Victorian awnings this week. Their distinctive branding consists of bespoke cut stripes which makes the overall look truly individual. We at Radiant Blinds have been making traditional Victorian awnings for over a hundred years and in that time we have improved the manufacturing of them to make sure they can cope with the British weather. For example, we have replaced some of the boxing with a more resistant aluminium casing at the top and back. In the old timber version, the water or snow would rest on the wood and slowly eat into it. We still use hardwood cheeks and timber for the front lath and tacker. The arms are designed to suit the exact requirements of the building and the awning is operated by a pull down pole…….just as the Victorians did.
